REMIX COMPETITION WINNER

There were thousands of entries into the 'Time' Remix competition, and we have whittled them down to choose a winner and 2 runners up.

The winning remix, which will be released in the digital bundle of 'Time' on iTunes, is the Kev Willow remix.

Saul explains how he and Will chose the winner: "As soon as we heard Kev Willow's remix we knew we'd found the winner. We loved the music used in the intro, and the garage / Todd Edwards vibe with the cut up vocals was an original concept for dubstep. It was a different and exciting sounding remix and he really put his own stamp on it."

i think kev is a good producer and i like some of his stuff but dont think he deserve to win this the 2 runner ups where better tunes sounding more fat .......but what can ya fair play to ya kev.....

... NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE REMIX COMP TILL NOW BUT DONE ONE WITH NO SAMPLES APART FROM WHAT I COULD TAKE OFF THE ORIGINAL ON THE ALBUM, IF I HAD THE SAMPLE PACK I WOULD OF NAILED IT HARD

Dan Overton...if this is "Ovey" of the "Amec & Ovey remix" then i understand where you're coming from. I personally enjoyed your remix and definitely thought it was one of the better remixes. But I think as artist we have to learn to appreciate and congratulate other artists on their work.

Look i'm not going to be tight or nasty. I understand that the winners had to be fitted into a commercial category for radio and other reasons. The remixes chosen were not very creative at all. Just pop. If there is going to be a competition it should be based on creativity and how the elements provided were used and manipulated to produce a new sound in comparison to the original, not the same but with a different beat. I have heard at least 70% of the tracks sent in. There are rough mix-downs and mash ups and just amateur stuff uploaded but around 10% are decent remixes. I spent at least 270+ hours, staying up until 4am and goin to work at 8am just to complete this remix competition and then i hear that somebody using basic presets on vsts gets the win. There is no Sound design involved, no new style, no effects of the vocal apart from slices. Just boring @#$*!step. I'm not meaning to be nasty i'm sure he deserves it in a POP style view. But there are producers breaking the boundaries of sound that are involved in this competition and could be pioneers in shaping the future of electronic music and then there's people that follow the trend and make it as similar to another tune as possible and keeps hitting the required specification needed to fit within the specific genre....=BORING They win because people will automatically like it because they are familiar with listening to the genre/style on the radio or however they hear their POP garbage. We are living in the internet age, its an internet competition, there are more better quality music/genres on the net which the Media/Radio will prevent from being heard. This needs to change. If you agree with what i have to say please take the time to listen to these remixes, im sure you will totally agree that these @#$*! ON ALL REMIXES. My favourite remixes were ... one is so creative and the step is so ... one is so crisp and the bass and the sounds are ... is my remix. NOW THESE SHOULD BE CONTENDERS. THESE ARE ACTUALY DECENT PRODUCTION... CHASE AND STATUS SORT YOUR EARS OUT

i had fun on the contest, was good to help get my groove back in producing. The winners arent that bad... although the first runner up is better than the winner, in my opinion. But of all the remixes I listened to during the duration of the contest, i heard many WAY better ones. So my question is, after you "knew you'd found the winner" did you continue to listen to the other tracks? 10 days isnt much time for judging over 1,300 songs that were entered lol. :) either way, gg, fun contest, thanks for the opportunity.

Well done to the winners. But for over 700 remixes i think the competition was judged might quickly. Be good if you could check our tune again. We turned your tune into a commercial pop tune. I agree with most the comments on here. i'm not fussed about winning or not as remixing time was fun but after seeing who you chose as the winner, a lil piece of me died inside. my winner was Chase & Status - Time (Rameses B remix)

Nice remixes, congrats to these guys! Out of 1000+ dubstep mixes must have been bit tricky deciding on a winner lol. Hope you had a chance to check out the Cybermatrix remix :)

oh my god! chase and status have become retarded? if you are looking for a sound commercial and underground groove i have listened much better! your tastes have become really pathetic! I know it would be bad to release remix better than the original ... honestly ... I've heard wonderful remix, with originality and professional sound structure ... you killed the dream of real talents and you did of 3 losers, winners!

Alright so... I really dont understand why this wasnt open Canadians ...My 2 boys killed it with their remixes and then werent able to enter them... In my opinion these 3 artists killed the beautiful vocal ... the first 2 completely threw the vocal off and made it sound like its not even on time... If you guys want to hear a REAL remix check this out ..... ... ...
